It was a project, not a business

Sim’s Sweet and Savory was created from a deep love for baking and a desire to share food that feels personal, comforting, and made with care. Every product is prepared with attention, passion, and a belief that homemade food should do more than taste good — it should make people feel seen, valued, and welcomed. From sweet treats to savoury bakes, each item is crafted to bring a sense of warmth, quality, and trust to every customer.

At the heart of the brand is the idea that food can carry love, comfort, and connection. That is why every batch is made thoughtfully, using quality ingredients and a homemade touch that speaks for itself. Sim’s Sweet and Savory is more than just a bakery — it is a place where flavour, care, and authenticity come together to create something special for the people who choose it.

It was never easy, but in the end it all worths it.

I came to the UK in 2015, with a dream of starting fresh in a country that offered more possibilities for my future. At the time, I made the very difficult decision to leave my four-year-old daughter with my parents in Romania, holding onto hope, love, and the belief that I was building something better for both of us.

The journey was not easy. I worked long night shifts in warehouses and fruit factories, often doing 12-hour shifts from Monday to Sunday, pushing myself through exhaustion with the determination to create a better life. Through all of that, I kept growing — not only through work, but through constant self-development, reading, listening to podcasts, and learning how to become stronger, wiser, and more intentional every day.

Eventually, I was able to bring my daughter closer to me, and that moment changed everything. I became a single mother raising her with love, care, and a deep commitment to giving her the right foundation in life. Over time, I made the brave decision to leave my day job and build my own business through baking — a path that allowed me to work for something I truly believe in, while also home educating my daughter so we could spend more time together, bond deeply, and grow side by side.

For me, this is more than just a business journey. It is a journey of healing, love, resilience, and purpose. I believe in growing with gratitude, light, and compassion. I have always been an empath, someone who truly listens to people’s stories and wants to give back to the community. Everything I do comes from the belief that we can build a life of meaning, confidence, and connection — not only for ourselves, but for the people around us.

When the right time and place aligns.

Sittingbourne: Where the Next Chapter Began
In 2020, when everything in the world felt disconnected and the future seemed dormant, I made the decision to move with my daughter to Sittingbourne from Wisbech. My older brother had already been living here for more than five years, and being closer to him gave me something deeply important: the comfort of family, the strength of unconditional love, and the confidence to begin again in a new place.

Watching my brother build his own business inspired me greatly. I observed, learned, asked questions, and gathered knowledge and resources that helped me imagine the beginning of my own path. Sittingbourne slowly became more than just a place to live — it became a place of peace, reflection, and renewal. I especially fell in love with Kemsley, where I found a sense of home that my soul had been searching for.

What makes this place even more meaningful to me is the way it allowed me to reconnect with purpose and community. Giving back has always been part of who I am. Whether through raffles, giveaways, or donating my products to people I know could truly enjoy them, I try to share what I have with others whenever I can. I am a giver at heart, and I believe that living with gratitude, generosity, and light will always attract abundance back in return.
